 Welcome everyone to IANA's 2ndgen blog, where we will discuss updates on IANA's involvement with Nigeria, interesting topics that will keep you engaged, future projects that we have planned as the 2ndgen community, pop culture and so much more.  


Happy 2022, a New Year to create more goals and reflect on past accomplishments. How was your 2021? Anything exciting occur? 


Well, let’s begin with recapping what happened in Nigeria in 2021…



A successful Issele Association  of North America (IANA) medical mission October 15-October 17th, with the President of IANA- Mr. Matthew Azuh and Dr. Awunor and Team.


 


Recap of the 3 day medical mission in Issele Uku: 


A total of 749 patients seen..


37 surgical procedures (14 Herniorrhaphy, 2 Appendectomy, 3 excision biopsy,18 dental surgical procedures done) and were all successful.


Then Issele Mkpitime and Issele Asaba received the outreach medical services from IANA the following weekend.



With 2022 already here, what is something you did in 2021 that you want to explore differently this year?

Blog Happy August, From August 9th to the 11th, we had our 2024 IANA Convention and Regional Gala in New York City…Queens, New York to be exact. Like I did with our Convention weekend in Chicago, Illinois, here is a recap of what you missed. Friday Friday was the first day of the convention. We met at LaGuardia Plaza Hotel in Queens, welcoming everyone. The 2nd Gen Dream Team would also present a powerpoint of the Progress Update led by IANA 2nd Gen President Chiedu Nwaesei, Vice President Ifeany Azul, Jr., Secretary Ogechukwuka Nwaesei, Assistant Secretary Onyebuchim Nwaesei, Treasurer Onyi Ozoma…and me. Unfortunately, our other public relations officers Chekwume Nwaesei and Chekwume Ufoegbune couldn’t make it, but were there in spirit. After that, it’s bowling time. Blog Happy August, Back with another blog this Month. I felt like this was something I needed to talk about after hearing about it. As I was coming back from the IANA 2024 Convention Weekend in New York City, I was watching a recent interview with legendary Reggae artist Buju Banton. He was being interviewed on the “Drink Champs” podcast hosted by hip hop artist N.O.R.E., and they were talking about  Reggae and Dancehall music, which then would turn to Afrobeats music.
